JOSHUA J. PHILLIPS

 Joshua J. Phillips handles a variety of civil matters with a concentration in the areas of litigation, probate, wills and estates, and corporate and business law.  He has extensive litigation experience involving contract disputes, construction, non-competes, fiduciary duty claims, and real estate, and has tried federal jury cases and cases before state and administrative courts.

In addition to his litigation work, Josh has had significant experience negotiating agreements, advising on contracts, and working with clients to achieve business goals.

Josh was a partner in the Nashville office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP.  Josh is a graduate of Duke University and earned his law degree with highest honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law.  He received Am. Jur. Awards for his coursework in Criminal Law, Torts II, Contracts II, Property, Land Use, and Employment Law.  After law school, Josh clerked for Chief Justice William M. Barker on the Tennessee Supreme Court.



Josh has written and presented on topics including e-discovery, injunctions, discovery enforcement, construction liability, and real estate transactions.

Josh is licensed in Tennessee and Kentucky.  He is admitted to practice before the state courts in Tennessee and Kentucky and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Tennessee, Middle District of Tennessee, Western District of Tennessee, Eastern District of Kentucky, Western District of Kentucky, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.


Josh is a native of Gallatin and a graduate of Gallatin High School.  He enjoys spending time with his wife, Betsy, and their three children, Hal, Lucy, and Sam.
